Chandran Nair is an esteemed businessman, famed as the Founder and CEO of the Global Institute for Tomorrow. Sitting at the helm of the independent think tank, Chandran is dedicated to the focus on economic, political and social issues from Asian perspectives. Prior to founding the Global Institute for Tomorrow, Chandran worked as the Chairman of Environmental Resources Management. As the Chairman of ERM, Chandran was responsible for the Asia-Pacific region and under his watch profits of the region grew consistently across a decade. In 2004, Chandran founded Global Institute for Tomorrow, and continues his work with the company today as the CEO. Other prominent roles of Chandran’s include being a member of WEF’s Global Agenda Council on Governance for Sustainability and Expert Forum, an Executive Committee Member of the Club of Rome, a Senior Fellow of CIMB ASEAN Research Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Chandran has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has also authored three critically acclaimed books, titled The Sustainable State, Consumptionomics and Dismantling Global White Privilege. His books have earned him recognition as one of the Top 50 Breakout Capitalism Books from The Guardian and in the Top Ten Books of 2011 by The Globalist. Chandran has also frequently contributed to renowned publications, such as The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, South China Morning Post and The Huffington Post.
