Jenny Garrett OBE is an award-winning career coach, leadership trainer, and author, currently serving as Managing Director of Jenny Garrett Global and a Board Trustee at UP Projects. With a career dedicated to driving change, Jenny draws on her lived experience as a Black woman navigating corporate and entrepreneurial spaces to inspire others and challenge inequality. Her powerful voice as a racial equality advocate is rooted in personal insight and a deep commitment to social justice. Jenny is a speaker on a wide range of topics including Unlocking Your Leadership Story, Inclusive Leadership, The Key to Confidence, Overcoming Imposter Syndrome, and Reimagining Your Personal Brand for the Digital Age. Her talks are designed to equip individuals and organisations with the tools to thrive while actively building inclusive cultures.
Jenny’s professional journey began in marketing, including a role as Marketing Manager at Ashridge Executive Education in 2004. A year later, she founded Jenny Garrett Global, where she began coaching professionals and delivering transformational leadership programmes. Her early passion for supporting women’s success led to her first book, Rocking Your Role: The How To Guide to Success for Female Breadwinners (2012), and to mentoring women globally through the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. In 2014, she co-founded Rocking Ur Teens CIC, a social enterprise aimed at empowering young people, and she became the UK’s first creator of a Diverse Executive Coach Directory in 2020, underlining her long-standing commitment to inclusive leadership.
Jenny’s achievements have continued to build momentum in recent years. In 2021, she was awarded an OBE for services to entrepreneurship and women in business. In 2023 alone, she was named Inspiring Mentor of the Year by We Are Novi, became a finalist in the Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion category at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards, and was shortlisted for the Entrepreneur for Good Award at the Every Woman Entrepreneur Awards. She was also featured in the Diversity Power List Honour’s list and published her latest book, Equality vs Equity: Tackling Issues of Race in the Workplace, a practical and reflective guide that is fast becoming a key resource for employers. In 2025, Jenny was appointed Board Trustee at UP Projects, further extending her influence across the arts and public engagement sectors.
Jenny’s speaking style is dynamic, relatable, and deeply informed by both professional insight and lived experience. Her sessions—such as #IamRemarkable, which she also delivers pro bono for underrepresented groups, How to Network with Precision and Purpose, and Assertive Communication: Who Gets Heard and Why—are particularly impactful for employee resource groups, leadership development programmes, and organisations committed to equity. With a sharp focus on racial equality and inclusive leadership, Jenny is hired by organisations not only because of her credentials, but because she brings clarity, empathy, and actionable strategies that foster lasting change.
Jenny Garrett is regularly booked to engage audiences at events, read their latest feedback below:
“I wanted to thank you again for coming in to speak to the Sprint participants. You had a great impact on the students and I hope to have the pleasure of seeing again at Westminster. Feedback from the students was: “I loved the tip about accepting yourself and not comparing yourself to others.” “Jenny was very open and it seemed like she was talking with you and not at you. She made us feel comfortable and I really appreciated the helpful conversations afterwards, particularly about building a support network.” “Jenny was an inspiration – very motivating.”
“We were really pleased to have Jenny on board at The Telegraph TeleWonderWomen Women in Politics event and thought she made an excellent contribution to the panel and provided some great insights around women’s attitude to leadership and positions of power, women’s ambition and challenging the concept of women needing to change their attributes to succeed.”
“Jenny gave an inspiring talk at the University of Surrey ‘Women in Business: The Journey To Success’ event for our business school alumni, students, staff and the local business community. We received highly positive feedback on her presentation and I would recommend her for similar events in future.”
