Dr Manpreet Dhuffar Pottiwal is a respected psychologist, mental health advocate and leading voice in academia, widely recognised for her work championing inclusion, equity and culturally informed wellbeing. With more than 15 years of experience across clinical practice and higher education, Manpreet has built a reputation for delivering insightful, evidence-based perspectives on the lived experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. Her ability to connect psychological theory with real-world challenges makes her a compelling and trusted BAME speaker for organisations seeking to foster inclusive and supportive environments.
Manpreet began her career as an accredited cognitive behavioural therapist, developing a strong clinical foundation in supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Through her work in both public and private healthcare settings, she became increasingly aware of the systemic barriers and cultural stigmas surrounding mental health within minority communities. Alongside her clinical practice, she pursued an academic career, contributing to research and teaching that explored identity, intersectionality and access to mental health support. This dual perspective enabled her to bridge the gap between theory and practice, shaping her distinctive voice as both a practitioner and educator.
As her career progressed, Manpreet founded MultiGenZen, a self-funded social enterprise dedicated to building resilience and strengthening community-level support systems. Through this initiative, she has led programmes designed to empower individuals across generations, particularly within underrepresented groups. Recognised as a leading voice in mental health and academia, she has contributed to important conversations around cultural competence, representation and equity, further establishing her credibility as a thought leader in this space. In 2024, she participated in TEDxNHS and in her engaging talk, she emphasised the importance of inclusive and innovative approach to mental health care.
As a BAME speaker, Manpreet is highly regarded for her ability to address complex and often sensitive topics with clarity, authenticity and authority. She brings a nuanced understanding of how culture, identity and systemic inequality intersect with mental health, offering organisations practical strategies to create more inclusive and psychologically safe environments. Her talks challenge audiences to move beyond surface-level diversity initiatives and instead embed meaningful, culturally informed change. Combining clinical expertise, academic insight and lived understanding, Manpreet delivers impactful keynotes that resonate with diverse audiences and drive lasting organisational transformation.
