Abdi Omar

Abdi Omar is a passionate motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and advocate for disability inclusion, celebrated for his ability to inspire change and challenge perceptions. As the founder, Director and CEO of Abdi Enterprisesand Limitless Minds Group, Abdi has become a respected voice in conversations around diversity, race, and inclusion. Originally from Somalia and living with Cerebral Palsy, he uses a high-tech communication aid to connect with audiences, demonstrating that communication comes in many powerful forms. Abdi is frequently invited to speak on topics including disability awareness, inclusive education, and entrepreneurship, drawing on both lived experience and professional insight to leave a lasting impact.

Abdi’s journey began with a strong personal drive to overcome barriers and redefine what is possible for disabled individuals. Despite facing significant challenges, he pursued opportunities to support others, particularly in education and training. His early career was shaped by years of delivering Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (S.E.N.D.) training to schools, as well as mentoring individuals through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. These experiences built the foundation for his business, Abdi Enterprises, where he continues to empower others and promote inclusive practices in society.

More recently, Abdi has achieved national recognition for his work. He founded and leads the AAC Users Club, which supports others who use assistive technology to communicate. His commitment to uplifting underrepresented voices in the disabled and BAME communities has earned him an award from Number 10 Downing Street—an acknowledgement of his tireless work within both the Somali community in the UK and the wider disability rights movement. In addition to his public speaking engagements, he provides mentorship, teacher training, and workshops to encourage a more inclusive approach to education and business.
