Leading British Anthropologist, Researcher and Author Dr Audrey Allwood is a specialist in Caribbean migration and legacy in Britain. She has decades of experience in leadership roles across various areas of the public sector interfacing mental health, housing, education and community engagement. She is an Associate Lecturer at Goldsmith University and a visiting Research Fellow.  When booked as a speaker, Dr Audrey is brings a wealth of experience combined with decades of academic research to deliver highly focused talks for all audiences. She speaks on Diversity & Inclusion, Windrush and the Generations, Strategic Planning and Change Management.

In 2018 Dr Audrey presented a collaborative project with Goldsmith University on Caribbean mothering covering intergeneration exchange and social adaptation. She has been an anthropologist since 2008 specialising in Caribbean migration; inter-generational kinship and genealogy, contribution to culture, belonging, and legacy in British society.  In collaboration with Lambeth Libraries Dr Audrey launched a Windrush Multi-Media Exhibition which was opened by the Lambeth Mayor the exhibition was developed with local primary schools and youth organisations as well as the Windrush Elders group bringing together different generations in celebration of culture.

Dr Audrey is a certified Mindful Meditation practitioner certified by the Complementary Medical Association – this supports her work in delivering workshop to local communities on stress and change management. Her ‘Walk with Audrey’ programme supports locals with emotional concerns and has been piloted by national mental heath organisation Certitude. She has also collaborated with MIND one of the largest mental health charities in the UK to deliver coaching programmes for young homeless people in the UK.

Booked as a speaker Dr Audrey has the energy, and experience to cover a breadth of topics in depth, she has famously delivered for the Home Office Windrush Celebration Day – she an incredibly rare speaker who is able to cover several facets of diversity and inclusion and mental health and well being.
