Charlene White has enjoyed a successful career in media as a TV presenter and newsreader, currently an Anchor Presenter on Loose Women. Throughout her career, Charlene has presented a variety of news broadcasts, from ITV News at 5:30 to ITV News at Ten, covering pressing and current stories. Breaking glass ceilings, Charlene made headlines as the first Black woman to present ITV News at Ten, and she has continually spoken out about racism and sexism within her career. A consummate broadcaster, Charlene has worked on both radio and television presenting the hottest stories of the moment. She began her career as a broadcaster on BBC Look East, BBC Three 60 Seconds, BBC News and Radio 5 Live Morning Reports. She later became a reporter for Radio 1 Newsbeat and BBC Radio 1Xtra, before presenting 1Xtra’s TX show and ITV News Meridian. In 2008, Charlene moved to join ITN, presenting shows such as ITV News London and ITV News at 5:30. In 2014, she became the first Black woman to present ITV News at Ten and she also presented ITV Weekend News.

In 2019, Charlene became a lead presenter of ITV News London and in 2020, she started acting as a guest presenter on Loose Women. In 2021, she was promoted to become a Loose Women Anchor, where she has shared her passionate views on topical issues. With a successful career to her name, Charlene uses her prominence to bring awareness to discrimination and the importance of representation in the media. She has formerly spoken out about racism and sexism she has faced within her industry, and how the lack of representation and diversity warp news agendas. She pushes the fact that change and progression are not happening fast enough, and the damage that such a lack of change causes to minority groups.

Charlene has interviewed countless prominent figures, including the likes of David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Kanye West, and Beyonce.
