Ian Clarke is a British philanthropist, social justice advocate, and the Founder & CEO of Deilight Consulting, a multi-award-winning culture transformation practice. Ian’s journey began at ISS Buckingham Palace, where he worked as an Information Commercial Associate Manager for the British Royal family in 2005. After graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in Financial Markets and Management in 2009, he joined HSBC. Over the next 14 years, Ian rose through the ranks in investment banking, holding senior positions including Deputy Global Relationship Manager, Director of Global Payments and Cash Management, and finally Vice President of Global Banking Sales. Despite his professional success, Ian experienced first-hand the limitations of corporate diversity and inclusion efforts, which ultimately motivated him to leave banking and establish Deilight Consulting in 2021. His career path is a testament to resilience, authenticity, and a commitment to social impact.
In recent years, Ian has delivered ground-breaking initiatives that have positioned him as a thought leader in racial equality. In 2021, his landmark report, Project Speak Up exposed systemic oppression within global financial services, directly contributing to seven world records, including the appointment of the first Black female board member in global banking history. He was also on the Advisory Board of The Good Work Coalition, fighting against the lack of representation and tolerance within the world’s financial services. Furthermore, under his leadership, Deilight Consulting pioneered Project Deilicious, the world’s first authentic diversity and inclusion consultancy, and evolved into a “Change Engine” with Project Deilightful. Through Project Revelation and his book The Sciences of Change, Ian explores human identity and potential, offering organisations scientific frameworks for lasting transformation.
