Inel Tomlinson is a multi-award-nominated actor, comedian, and voice-over artist, renowned for his dynamic presence across television, radio, and live performances. As the founder and director of Kinetic Comedy, Inel has created a platform that champions diversity within the comedy scene. His personal experiences as a Black entertainer in the UK have profoundly influenced his advocacy for racial equality, driving him to address topics such as diversity and inclusion, representation in the media, and the transformative power of comedy in bridging cultural divides.
Inel’s journey began with the establishment of Kinetic Comedy, an energetic live stand-up event showcasing up-and-coming and diverse talents in the UK comedy circuit. This initiative not only highlighted his commitment to multicultural representation but also set the stage for his subsequent ventures. He gained national recognition as one half of Johnny & Inel, the UK’s first Black comedy double act, leading to their self-titled CBBC show, The Johnny & Inel Show, which blended sketches and celebrity interviews, breaking new ground in children’s television. Beyond television, Inel co-hosted radio shows like Live & Loud on Fubar Radio and a prime-time slot on Virgin Radio UK, further expanding his reach and influence.
Throughout his career, Inel has amassed a series of notable achievements. He has been a main cast member in the acclaimed series Horrible Histories, collaborating with the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023. In 2022, he appeared in the Netflix feature film Christmas on Mistletoe Farm. His voice-over work includes roles in video games and as the voice of Comedy Central UK. Inel’s dedication to the gaming community was recognised with a Best Streamer nomination at the IMPYS Awards in 2020.
