Marian Adejokun is an inspiring Early Years Educator and Speaker at the Professional Association for Childcare & Early Years, as well as an Exam Invigilator at Harris Federation. Drawing powerfully from her own lived experiences, particularly surviving the rare and life-threatening Stevens-Johnson syndrome in 2011 – a one in a million rare deadly allergy reaction to eye drops that caused all of her skin to peel off from head to toe, resulting in being in a coma for a month – Marian is deeply motivated to champion racial equality, resilience, and empowerment. Through her organisations, the Marian Adejokun Foundation and ReachOut2All CIC, she focuses on amplifying young people’s voices across a variety of platforms. Marian speaks on an array of topics including Christian Faith, Early Years Education, Youth Development, Lifestyle, Careers, Well-being, Disability, and Anti-bullying, with her unique story bringing authenticity and passion to every engagement.
Marian’s early career was shaped by her determination to overcome extraordinary challenges. Following her miraculous recovery, she pursued a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies at Roehampton University, later achieving an MA in Early Years Education from UCL Institute of Education. Alongside her studies, Marian founded ReachOut2All CIC in 2013, aiming to empower young people through creativity and education. She steadily built her professional profile through roles as an Educator at Hays and Early Years SENCO Educator at Harris Academy Purley. Her early involvement as a Student Mentor at UCL and a BAME Mentor for the University of Brighton also highlights her dedication to nurturing young minds and advocating for inclusion.
Over the years, Marian has earned numerous accolades, including being named on the #WISE100 Women of Inspiration List (2020), receiving the Inspirational Women Award (2017), and being a finalist for the SheInspires Awards (2022) in Women in Leadership. She has served as a UN Women UK Official Delegate, a Council Community Leader with Oasis Community Learning, and an ambassador for several organisations including the British Skin Foundation and The Scar Free Foundation. Additionally, Marian has been interviewed on BBC News and ITV News, and has even spoken alongside Martin Luther King Jr’s family at the Atlanta Global Humanitarian Summit. Her published works, My Life is Not My Own and ReachOut2All: Word4Life, further demonstrate her commitment to advocacy and education.
Marian’s speaking topics are rich and wide-ranging, yet deeply interconnected through her focus on racial equality and social justice. Whether discussing Christian Faith, Early Years Education, Youth Development, Careers, or Well-being, Marian weaves her personal journey into every narrative, inspiring audiences to overcome adversity and embrace diversity. Her experience working across educational and community sectors gives her a profound understanding of systemic barriers, making her an ideal speaker for schools, universities, conferences, and corporate events. Organisations hire Marian because she not only speaks from lived experience but also brings passion, expertise, and an unwavering belief in the power of young people and inclusive communities.
