In her early career, Meave co-founded Where It’s At PR, collaborating on major NHS campaigns and helping shape public health messages aimed at African Caribbean communities. Her passion for community engagement led her to establish Brilliant Women, later rebranded to Brilliant Parents, a social enterprise that officially became a Registered Charity by 2021. Through her commitment to the Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme), Meave built a reputation for high-impact workshops, delivering evidence-based parenting interventions in schools, prisons, and local authorities.
Her recent achievements reflect her tireless efforts to innovate and inspire. Meave secured celebrity endorsement from Shaun Wallace (of ITV’s ‘The Chase’), creating high-profile fundraising quiz nights that raised over £4,000 and expanded community outreach. She also led the development of the Mother’s Day events in 2018 and 2019, drawing more than 200 attendees each, and featuring influential speakers such as Reverend Rose Hudson Wilkin and Baroness Doreen Lawrence. Simultaneously, Meave has overseen multiple service contracts with councils like Barking and Dagenham, Hillingdon, and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, broadening her impact on vulnerable families.

“During the period of November 2016 to March 2017 NELFT CAMHS initiated a parenting programme as part of a pilot study providing early help for children and young people as well as their parents in three boroughs (Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering). Intrinsic to the pilot was the support and intervention of Meave Darroux of Brilliant Parents charity. Engaging with local schools and encouraging access to Triple P programmes Meave Darroux has provided seminars and parent groups at many schools throughout all three boroughs. Her interventions and liaison within schools helped establish links and an understanding more rapidly than newly trained staff could have achieved and her experience was invaluable for advice and support of other staff. I can whole heartedly recommend Meave Darroux to any services either statutory or otherwise who are interested in parental support and Triple P interventions.”

“BCP council was recommended to Brilliant Parents by Triple P UK to deliver virtual Triple P parenting in September 2020. From the moment we contacted Meave, Brilliant Parents responded very rapidly to our request to deliver 3 Triple P programmes and within 4 weeks the programmes were being delivered. Meave and her team at Brilliant Parents successfully delivered to 29 families, reaching over 54 children. Brilliant Parents presented us with a comprehensive evaluation of all the groups which demonstrated high levels of sustained engagement from the parents and evidenced the impact on parents and most importantly the positive outcomes this is having on their children/young people. Brilliant Parents made every step of the process from referral through to completion as seamless as possible. “Ms Darroux came to Holloway Prison on the recommendation of Triple P as an experienced practitioner and one who could deliver the Triple P Seminars at short notice. As the Operations Manager for Holloway Prison, I decided to attend the seminars to assess whether they would be beneficial to the women whilst in the prison, not only in the skill of parenting but to also see if there would be a link to reducing their re-offending behaviour. Having watched these Seminars, I was extremely impressed with the way Ms Darroux was not only familiar with the content of the seminars, but was immediately able to put the women at ease, mostly by speaking to them and not at them. The seminars were so enjoyable that the women asked if there were any follow-on courses and were asking when Ms Darroux would be back.”
