Miranda Brawn is a distinguished international public speaker, media contributor, and strategic advisor, widely recognised for her influential voice in racial equality, diversity, and responsible leadership. She is the Founder of The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation and Host of The D.A.R.E Podcast, while continuing her global work through roles including Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford and Honorary Professor in Business and Law at the University of Roehampton. Her lived experience as a Black British woman in male-dominated fields such as finance and law strongly fuels her mission to close racial and opportunity gaps. Miranda speaks passionately on topics including Global Trends, Successful Mindsets, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ESG Sustainability, and The Future, with a particular focus on equipping individuals and institutions with tools to drive meaningful change.
Miranda’s journey began in finance and law, becoming a qualified barrister while also completing an MBA in Strategic Management. Her early career included trailblazing roles in the financial sector where she rose to become Co-Founder and Managing Director of MB Global Advisors. Simultaneously, she broke barriers as one of the few Black women to succeed in front-office investment banking roles and regulatory risk management, gaining deep insight into the systemic inequities that underpinned her later advocacy. In 2016, she founded The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation, a pioneering charity helping to bridge diversity gaps through education, funding and mentorship.
Her recent achievements reflect her continued influence and excellence. In 2024, she delivered her powerful TEDx talk, D.A.R.E. to Draw the Life You Want, the follow up to 2019’s Together close the diversity gap in 2 steps!. She was named among the Top 100 Influential People 2024 and also became the first of 100 women handpicked to receive the Honorary Freedom of the City of London. Other accolades include the Top 50 Afro-Caribbean Leadership Award 2023, Women of the Year 2019, and a Prime Minister’s award with commendation from King Charles III (then Prince of Wales). In academia and civic service, she holds roles such as Liverywoman of The Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers, demonstrating her broad contributions to British society.
Miranda is hired by leading institutions and global organisations because of her rare ability to combine first-hand professional insight, academic rigour, and lived experience. Her speaking engagements delve deeply into racial equity within the broader lenses of DE&I, ESG+Health, and CSR. She provides tangible strategies for closing racial gaps, fostering inclusive leadership, and creating future-ready mindsets. With a commanding presence and a clear, inspiring message, she is a highly sought-after speaker who transforms conversations and drives real change.
