Musa Motha is an inspirational and internationally acclaimed amputee dancer, Britain’s Got Talent finalist, speaker, and equality advocate, who has toured globally since 2019. As a survivor of Osteosarcoma bone cancer, which led to the amputation of his leg at just 11 years old, Musa draws deeply on his lived experiences of adversity, identity, and perseverance to advocate for racial equality and social inclusion. His talks often focus on overcoming barriers, redefining masculinity and disability, and dismantling systemic inequality through resilience and representation. Musa’s powerful presence on stage resonates with audiences globally, as he weaves together personal stories with a broader call for equity and justice.
Before his rise as an international speaker and dancer, Musa dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. Even after his amputation, he remained active in football until he discovered an unexpected love of dance, a new way to express himself and connect with others. He trained intensively and developed a distinct style that integrated his crutch as an extension of his movement. Starting out in Johannesburg, South Africa, he began performing locally before gaining international attention. His journey into dance was shaped by grit, community support, and a strong desire to prove that no physical or social limitation could define his potential.
Musa’s impact has been recognised widely. In 2023, he became a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and made history by receiving the show’s first-ever group Golden Buzzer. That same year, he won the Emerging Artist Award at the National Dance Awards, solidifying his influence in the performing arts. He has also featured in major pop culture moments, including a role in Drake’s music video for One Dance, further expanding his platform to advocate for inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in the creative industries.
In his keynote speeches and workshops, Musa delves into themes such as resilience, identity, breaking stereotypes, and racial justice—particularly how race intersects with disability and social expectations. His powerful storytelling, artistic expression, and lived experience allow him to connect with a wide range of audiences, from young people to corporate leaders. Musa is hired not only because of his extraordinary talent and achievements but because he embodies the transformative potential of inclusive representation. He inspires change, challenges assumptions, and opens space for meaningful dialogue around racial equality and human dignity.
