Vanessa Kingori OBE is a distinguished British businesswoman, currently serving as the Managing Director of Technology, Media, and Telecoms at Google UK. With over two decades in the media and creative industries, she has consistently championed diversity, social responsibility, and female empowerment. Vanessa’s career began with an internship at the Evening Standard, where she quickly ascended to the role of Acting Group Head of ES Magazine. She then became the Fashion Manager at Esquire Magazine under Hearst UK. In 2009, Vanessa joined Condé Nast as the Publisher of GQ Style UK and Associate Publisher of Fashion for British GQ, marking her as the first woman and person of colour in these positions. Her strategic vision and leadership led to significant revenue growth and set the stage for her future accomplishments.

In 2017, Vanessa made history as the first female and first person of colour appointed as the Publishing Director of British Vogue in its over 100-year history. Her innovative approach emphasised diversity and inclusion, resulting in unprecedented digital revenue growth and enhanced brand relevance. This success led to her promotion in 2021 to Chief Business Officer at Condé Nast Britain, overseeing all ten of the company’s brands. Her contributions have been recognised with numerous accolades, including an MBE in 2016 and an OBE in 2023 for services to the media industry. Additionally, she was named the Powerlist’s Most Influential Black British Executive and received the Business Person of the Year award from The London Chamber of Commerce Black Excellence Awards in 2023.
