Waseem Mirza is a British technology presenter, actor and broadcaster whose career spans journalism, screen performance and global tech communication. Waseem studied Journalism at the University of Lincoln, where his promise was recognised early when BBC World hired him before graduation as their first TV Researcher for Click, the BBC’s flagship technology programme. This breakthrough launched his broadcasting career, leading to more than a decade at the BBC as a television presenter and reporter. Between 2008 and 2021, he presented and produced the BBC One 8pm news summary, worked as a video journalist, covered major global stories, and researched, wrote and directed the documentary Tech East. Industry magazines highlighted him in their Hot 30 Under 30 list, reflecting his rising profile in television and technology reporting.
From 2021 onwards, Waseem expanded into professional acting, with roles for Warner Bros, the BBC and Netflix. He co-starred in Pennyworth, the origin drama connected to the DC Comics universe, appeared in There Is Always Hope, a film that won Bronze at the 2022 Charity Film Awards, and featured in Beyond Belief: Talking to the Dead. His recent work includes performances in the Golden Globe–nominated series The Diplomat, a guest appearance in a forthcoming Netflix project, a role in Emmerdale and casting in the upcoming Doctor Who spin-off The War Between the Land and the Sea. Alongside these achievements, he presents and produces the futureTECH Show, appears as a live presenter for major technology brands and continues to contribute across podcasting, web series and broadcast media.
